The second global HSK 3.0 trial test will take place on 20 September 2026, with registration opening on 3 August 2026.

The test covers HSK Levels 1 to 6 and will be available in paper-based and computer-based formats, depending on the participating test centre.

When does registration open?

Registration opens at 09:00 Beijing time on 3 August 2026. The deadline depends on the test format selected.

What time does each HSK level begin?

Candidates taking HSK Levels 3 to 6 must complete both the written and corresponding speaking tests.

Candidates must register for both components. The speaking test is not optional for this HSK 3.0 trial session.

When will results be released?

Computer-based testResults are expected approximately 15 days after the examination.
Paper-based testResults are expected approximately 30 days after the examination.
Score reportThe official score report will be valid for two years.

Result publication may be postponed by approximately one week when the release period overlaps with an official public holiday.

How should candidates prepare?

Vocabulary and grammar study remain important, but candidates should also become familiar with the updated question types, section order and time limits before the official test.

  1. Take a full mock test earlyUse your first result to identify the sections and question types that need the most attention.

  2. Focus your revisionReview the vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, writing or speaking areas affecting your performance.

  3. Complete a final timed rehearsalTake another full mock test one or two weeks before 20 September without pausing or using a dictionary.

Which HSK levels are included?

The trial test covers HSK Levels 1 to 6. HSK Levels 7 to 9 are not included in this test session.

Do I need to take a speaking test?

Candidates registering for HSK Levels 3, 4, 5 or 6 must also register for the corresponding speaking test.

Will I receive an official score report?

Yes. Candidates who complete the trial test will receive an official score report valid for two years.
